TOUR DESCRIPTION:
Byron Bay is famous for a lot of things, and transitioned from being a hazardous industrial town to turn into a surfers/hippies haven in the 60's and 70's, finally becoming one of the most up-market residential areas on the Australian east coast. A Coastal town located on the far-north coast of NSW, home to Australia's most easterly point and the iconic Cape Byron lighthouse, very much loved for its spetacular beaches. Your day starts bright and early so you can get to the attractions before the crowds and enjoy the early morning views at the lighthouse. Departure from Gold Coast at 7:30 am. After a 90 minutes driving to Byron, the first stop will be at the internationally famous Cape Byron Lighthouse, as we want to get there before the large crowds. It's time for breakfast (own expenses) at Cape Byron Cafe, admiring the stunning views of the Bay. At Cape Byron Lighthouse your guide will take you to a short walk to the Most Easterly Point of Australia Mainland, where luckily you will spot some marine life like dolphins and turtles (also fantastic place for whales watching during the season). From the lighthouse, your drive will take you back to Byron Bay where you will have four hours free time to enjoy the town at your pace and preferences. Enjoy the prevalence of alternative "new-age" shops, "spiritual" services such as meditation and yoga classes, and holstic healing/"wellness" retreats. Go for a swimming, surfing and/or snorkeling experience at the stunning beaches of Byron Bay (Main Beach and Byron Beach). Have a drink at one of the vibrant Byron Bay pubs/bars, normally with plenty of live music around, and grab a snack or lunch as the town has a wide range of options for every budget and dietary preferences. After this amazing day, it's time to take the minibus back to Gold Coast, expected time of arrival 4:30 pm. This tour focuses on creating remarkable memories, come and join in and see what all the fuss is about! |
